About

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

More than thirty years ago, my father, Stephen Kennedy, was just starting out as a photographer in St. Louis. In an analog world where the internet had only just taken off, it was tough to break in and most relied on agents to book gigs. However, my Dad had a mind for both business and creativity, and decided he wanted to do his art his way. Thus, Kennedy Stock was born. Years later, it’s a thriving business that has taken him to all fifty states and twenty-six countries.

Now, I’m following in the footsteps of my Dad. I want to create bold and beautiful films that break the mold set up by previous gatekeepers. This not only includes my own films, but also the work of other underrepresented filmmakers. When forming Kennedy Stock Productions, I asked my Dad if I could borrow his name. Lucky for me, it was a resounding, “I love it!”
